DOG HAND STRING BAND
This seven-piece band were formed in late 2015 – then placed on feared permanent hiatus due to the banjo players’ hand getting ‘bit off by a damn mutt’ – forthwith they dubbed themselves Dog Hand String Band. Now they’re back with working fingers, righteous ire and sinister new powers. The first EP was recorded entirely live in 2 hours, representing the cacophony you’ll see live. Gritty blues, poison soaked murder ballads, dark Americana, backwoods bluegrass, horror folk, liquor, corruption and bad juju. Imbibe at own risk.
A masterful guitarist and singer songwriter, a very welcome return to Seven Live since his mesmerizing performance in December 2015. Usually seen ‘bringing the funny’ at his 10-years strong Kill For A Seat stand-up comedy night, his appearances at Seven Live are a rare treat; where the jokes are parked (bit his wit remains) and we are able to appreciate this singer-songwriter’s less publicly aired talent. With a couple of well chosen cover-versions, and his own evocative original material, a not-to-be-missed moment.
