Cinco de Mayo

Saturday 5th May at 8:00 pm

Mestisa are Leeds’ finest purveyors of Latin American music, with an irresistible and infectious energy which will lift the heart and soul. Tonight there will be an intoxicating blend of music from many countries, featuring a wide range of stringed and percussion instruments, stirring folk tales and emotional instrumentals. Mestisa will be debuting some of their new original material, as well as celebrating the Mexican holiday fiesta, “Cinco de Mayo” (The Fifth of May), by throwing in a few interpretations of some of the classic music from the region. If that wasn’t enough, weaved throughout the show will be a traditional Mexican bingo game, “La Lotoria de la Vida”. All will be explained on the night.
Come laugh, dance, win some prizes and lift, lift, lift your spirits!

Ana Luisa Muñoz – Vocals, stringed instruments, percussion.
Barbara Kempf – Vocals, stringed instruments.
Mike Sandell – Bass.
Brendan Bache – Percussion.
and special guest, Chris O’Malley – Accordion.
